A note from the Principal:

Clintwood Elementary's Plans for Monday's Solar Eclipse

On Monday, August 21, we will experience a solar eclipse. A permission form was sent home on Wed. of this week giving additional details. Those children who do not have parental permission to view the eclipse outside, will be able to view it in our Little Theater, library, or classrooms through livestreaming from one of the many websites showing the progress of the eclipse. All PreK students will be able to view the eclipse in this manner; we will not take any of our PreK children outside. Students in Kindergarten-5th who have returned a signed permission form will be able to go outside & view the eclipse from @ 2:15-2:45. Office staff, teachers who wish to view it, aides, & volunteers will supervise these children. Any parent is welcome to come to the school @ 2 & take your child outside to view the eclipse with them.  You may bring a blanket & sit on the track or on any of the playground areas. I hope that several of you will be able to join us for the solar eclipse; I especially encourage Kindergarten & 1st Grade parents to come & be with your children.  With the encroaching darkness, it may be a bit scary for our younger students.  We have special eclipse glasses supplied by the Board of Supervisors. for all of our students & staff, but parents will have to supply their own.
If you have questions, just call us at 926-6088.  Thank you!!
